why is grigerenko ranked in the 20's? lazy russian? lying about his age? How has he plummeted so dramatically?

He had a shitty playoffs. He got the stigma that he didn't care and folded.

In actuallity he was playing with mono.

Up until the playoffs they said he would go 2nd right behind yakupov.

Also.. when players are lying about their age. It's usually to be younger, not older. He could've been playing in the nhl two years ago if he's already 20. Doesn't make any sense

I wouldnt mind seeing the leafs trade down and draft Brendan Gaunce 6'2 215 Centre. I dont think Galchenyuk is much better then him and significantly smaller. Leafs need size down the middle and Gaunce brings that.

If Burke stays put, Galchenyuk at 5.
Possible he moves down the board, targets Wilson or Gaunce later.

Wonder if Oilers take Murray? Lowe watched him closely at World's and lord knows the blueline is weak.

Montreal is taking galchenyuk at 3

And gaunce is only gonna be a #2 C. No point in trading down, we need elite talent, nor mediocre

although gaunce is a markham boy, the leafs don't need to trade down. they have colborne who i would imagine stays on the leafs next year.

    Easy Craig Button..

This draft isnt exactly loaded with "elite" talent. Assess what you need/like, we all know Burke likes big N. American's, roll the dice on that without giving up pieces to move up and gamble on Russians.

MTL need a centre, they are going for Galynchuk for sure.

I was discouraged to read this

Yakupov is the premium offensive talent amongst a group stocked with capable blueliners. Long short an elite prospect down the middle, Burke hinted at drafting for need – rather than best available – but flashed only a sly grin when the prospect of selecting a centre was raised.

"You can speculate," he grinned. "We don't think anyone that we get at five is going to play right away so drafting positionally probably doesn't make sense. This is the one time in my life I've considered it, if there were a certain position available that we might try to fill it. But we usually go best-available athlete and that's still the way I intend to go."
Burke is going for dumba for sure....arrgghhh
