Interesting how this doesn't really match up with a Yelp top restaurants list

ie. Canoe and Jacob's isnt even on the list?!

and yes, I know nothing about good food either.

I've only ate at 5 of those. But I suppose not liking any seafood and not being a big fan of Japanese food knocks off more than half of those.

Also not a single vegetarian or vegan restaurant on the whole list?

yelp is generally done based on reviews, no?

I'd wager a guess that most of the high-end restaurants that are on the list above wouldnt be ranked as highly on yelp because not as many people eat at them and the ones that do dont generally post their reviews on yelp

I don't agree with the idea that people at these restaurants don't post reviews, I'm sure 99% of these have yelp reviews. And yelp ranking isnt just based on the number of reviews, while I'm sure there is a small minimum amount of reviews to hit the "top restauants" list but enough high ranked reviews will get one listed there.

ie. Bacchus is a small roti place on Queen West, its got only 19 reviews but its ranked 6th overall because its nearly a 5/5 average.

not sure why canoe didn't make the list but it's kind of been the same ol' for a long time (that would seem to be irrelevent since scaramouche and joso's are on the list)

jacob steakhouse? Place is way the fuck overpriced they are right that morton's is the best all around restaurant in Toronto

Corey is right about yelp. most people who would casually plunk down $300 for a two person meal aren't uploading #instafood pics after their mains are served

three mark mcewen restos on the list.
3 out of 4 aint half bad (although it's a bit odd that one isn't there they did lose their head chef and sous chef who went to open the grove at dundas and ossington beside churchill)
