    The land value absolutely does necessitate a tall ass tower right there. The 1776 ft. thing was intended as a symbolic design feature (symoblism in architecture? no way! how dare they pay any reference to the founding of their country!).

    Yeah the whole ground zero concept is pretty awesome actually. I love how they've managed to keep some of the original subterranean structure of the WTC as a memorial. Lipeskind (Jewish Museum of Berlin, Danish Jewish Museum, Lee-Chin Crystal etc.) was responsible for the master plan i think.
