    Default Worldwide Football[Soccer] discussion thread

No EPL here, let's keep everyone happy in that thread.

use this for champions league, uefa, fifa, kaizer chiefs in south africa, tokyo platoons, fc perth, sibir novosibirsk, columbus crew, world cup, europa league or mateja keman's latest assist totals in the hong kong league.

What are the odds that an in-form Arsenal could beat Barca over two games?

I would say 20-25% chance of an upset, 100% chance of awesomeness. 8 more days!

it's going to take an extremely tight road display with an away goal to have any chance.

if they come out of camp nou 1-1 or 2-2, anything is possible at home.

the only way it happens is if barca's big trio have an off game and fabregas/arshavin play beyond their capabilities (see poker vs liverpool)

Fabregas is right up with with Xavi as one of the best midfielders in the world. In my opinion Arshavin is sorely underestimated by most but his intelligence and precision can prove deadly, when he's on. Nasri has had a monstrous season and Van Persie seems to be back in top form.

As always its Arsenal's defenders that are the liability, as well as the Polish duo in net. Barca has been having maybe their best season ever with all cylinders firing so even a draw at Camp Nou would be considered an act of god. As I said, odds are they won't win but it will certainly be entertaining as fuck.
