This might seem like a silly question but its something i can't seem to figure out and i was hoping some of the more accomplished producers here could help me with.
Im really new to production and the thing i cant seem to figure out is, How do producers get that Big Big sound ? Everything I make seems hollow. The structure is there but its just seems meh ...
Is it software, the final mixdown, layering, compression ??
how do producers like BSE, Phesta , Concord get that crystal clear, speaker shaking, really full sounding tunes ?
It's all what you're using for samples man, you need the really clear sounding samples to get that sound. And it's about proper compression and of course the program you use. Cubase, Logic and Live are pretty much the standards for production now-a-days. Reason is usefull for that rex loop player, but looping is gay. Chop your own breaks, and boost the volumes on your sampler or mixer, boost them up, make em loud.
What are you using to produce? I can only help so much, I'm only about 4 years into production.
Well right now im using reason 3.0.4, cubase sx3, reactor 5, Kontakt2, battery3 ( which i have absolutly no clue how to use ) soundforge ect. ect .. W/ an oxygen 49
