I have had them since

2005

But i have them plugged into the soundcard most of the time and i have accidentally turned the volume up on the phones instead of the monitor level a few times so. Audio Technica make awesome headphones. My next pair will prob be the 1 up from these..

That reminds me of when I had a ghetto ass pair of speakers from goodwill or someshit. I was bumping some set, rather aggressively, and the foam around the woofer started to crack, and fall onto the floor. So I turned it up louder until they were dead. Was pretty cool at the time

Well here is the thing. I don't really know if Sony makes a pro audio headphone that is designed for shit like that. Meaning the response. Usually headphones by mainstream companies like that are designed for regular Jane or Joe. AKG, AT etc are companies that are dedicated to the pro audio consumer. When i buy stuff like that i do a little research trying to see what the eq drops are and such. Look for flat responses. Think of them as a reference monitor.

don't like the exposed wires powering the earbuds...but true sounding sound and ok price.
