so whether or not united can afford it (which is inconsequential)... they are not getting the return for the money.
the amount of goals different that you get from RVP than you would from Chicharito or Welbeck isnt worth 71M... Further on that point, how much of Chicharito or Welbecks progression will be stalled because RVP is now ahead of them in the depth chart? How much will they mind playing less minutes due to RVP being there? How will it affect their future value if ever united want to cash in on them?
there are a million variables, but most that i see point towards it not being a smart buy for the money..
Sure united might win the prem this year... but if they do, would it only be because of RVP? even if it was, is that worth 71M when you've got guys like Chich & Welbeck already there?
