You can't use both numbers and letters. Did the same to me. Try using just numbers or just letters...

***Downloading...*** Hey robb my axiom kicks ass. I don't even know how to use it. lol
Can't figure out how to hook up the after touch to parameters but I'm dreaming maniacally about twiting basses with by varying my touch on the key. I didn't realize what after touch was when I bought this thing!!! I just wanted the drum pads *tap tap tap tap*

Is there software that came with it? Should be some sort of set up with it..
:decklyn:
03-26-2007, 09:01 PM
Yeah I'm just programming it all in cubase manually
Going to take a little while to get everything mapped out proper, but I've got er working pretty good now. I'm just confused about the after touch signals. It must just be a GM standard, so like in Kontakt I can just set parameter automation to aftertouch or something (I hope)
Doesn't include programmed presets for SX.

You like that? I fixed up the master compression already fixed the levels. The drums are a bit too squashed.. Brought the bass back a little bit you can hear the subs more. A fun track def. Multi band compressing ;)
:decklyn:
03-26-2007, 09:22 PM
Yeah multiband is where it's at. I've gotta learn to back off a bit. Producing dubstep is teaching me about finding that "air" and "space" that we were talking about. I've had a few epiphanies in the last couple weeks. We'll see what happens when I go up tempo again. For now it's just me and this big bag of K. I mean.... I mean it's just me and downtepo.

As a dialup user, soudclick works well for me :-D
Sek started a thread on dubstep forum and the concesus is that
http://www.mediafire.com
is one of the best hosting services. Throw up a 128k file (no larger plz) and I'll give it a proper review for you tomorrow if you like with monitors and sub on.
Also please note the mediafire has the word fire in its name, giving it instant street cred.
you can pm me if you don't want the file passed around.

Hey bro. Alright giving a listen.
The synth sound in the start sound a bit too dry or something.
They could stand to be pushed back in the mix a bit with some reverb and EQ.
The buildup creates good tension, but I think it needs to give a bit more hang or tease. Maybe try cutting out a few more instruments just before it drops in order to give the impression of dynamics and punch. It's not bad bro! I don't think that it would win, but it's certainly not a bad production.
If I was going to revisit it as it is, I would focus on adding some interest to the string - eq them down and then push them back in the space with reverb w/ early reflections.
The vocal samples used lack perceptibility. Try notching other elements a touch at 5k and boost the vox at 5k to give it back texture and clarity.
The loops get dry after a while. Chop them up and do something with them!
I read a quote once that went something like this. "Once you realize how easy it is to loop a drum track, you want to experiment with it do something more with it." Find that something more.
I look forward to hearing your productions in the future bro! Keep in touch.
Hope the feedback is helpful. I like the tune. Just trying to give you substance to work with.
