very first tables i ever bought. touchy as hell. better off using the pitch bend button then actually touching the tables.

they are solid if used that way. good for beginners.

Thx for reply Evidence. well, i hav had no problem mixing scratching with ssl1 in gigs. set the needle weight more heavier could help that matter. Actually, i like the torque on ST8-100. when it comes to scratching, for me its better than Techs bcuz this got a bit more torque. As I know Tech got 1.5kg and this is 2.2kg. so its good for beginner to scratch as well. IMO, Tech is good for more smooth mix tho.

anyway, do your research fellas :p

ummm. techs have way more torque. these are like stopping a belt drive and trying to get it going again. they dont even come close to it. unless you adjusted it or something. i had them for 2 years and used them everyday

the only tables I know of having more torque is the Numark TT-500 or TT-X which I traded my str8-100's for and was the best choice

and its STR8-100's btw not ST8-100, ive done my research, and I can tell you they are really touchy, and no where close to the tech 12 quality.

im not saying dont buy them, they are great for beginners.
